Biography
Ioannis (John) Vourdoubas (1952-) is a qualified Chemical Engineer (National Technical University of Athens, Greece), M.Sc. (Loughborough University of Technology, England), Ph.D. (Hull University, England). He has recently retired from Hellenic Mediterranean University located in Crete, Greece where he was lecturing for many years.
Ioannis has actively participated during the last 30 years in the implementation of many EU funded international research projects (Interreg Europe, Erasmus, Intelligent Energy Europe etc) focused on Europe and the Mediterranean basin cooperating with many public and private organizations in many countries. He was also consulting several public and private organizations in the development and inplementation of environmentally sustainable projects.
He is the author and co-author of more than 150 papers published in International Scientific Journals in the fields of sustainable energies and climate change. He is the author of ten books published by ELIVA Press in the field of energy sustainability and green energy transition. He is also the author of many chapters in several books in the same scientific fields. He currently advices several private and public organizations in sustainability issues.
Ioannis is also a regular writer in several newspapers and magazines focusing on environmental sustainability, regional development and climate change. He is the author of more than ten books published in Greek language.
